THIS GORGEOUS GLYPH.
The story of the ampersand is an old favorite. Its one that Jason—our founder—loves to teach in his class, as well. So, when the opportunity arose to integrate it as a keystone in an organization’s branding, we jumped! We aren’t going to bore you with its history, here, because you can just Google that. The reason we chose an “&” over a “+”, or the word “and”, is what’s more important to the story.
It has depth of meaning, and history—it dates back to ancient times—much like the human journey with climate and weather. Where as the + symbol is a representation of math and was never really intended to be used to represent “and”. Also, there is a national Ampersand Day—September 8!
Our flavor of &, is Century Gothic.
